Share Some Love Today ~ Lasagna Love

I continually search for ways to serve always, and unfortunately, having to keep my physical limitations in mind. I was so excited to find Lasagna Love! An easy to join volunteer organization that meets all my needs, at the same time I am helping meet the needs of my neighbors.
Through the dozens of lasagnas I've made and delivered, I believe I have been exponentially more blessed than those to whom I deliver meals.
When I make initial contact and they thank me, I capture the opportunity to share this is the love of Jesus, and I'm just the vessel pouring out.
While I'm shopping for the ingredients, I'm thankful for both the gift of a hardworking husband, and the resources God has brought into our home.
While I'm in mise en place mode, preparing and organizing my ingredients, I'm relieved this is a multi-step dish, and I can rest between the steps.
While I'm cooking, I'm savoring, with all my senses, the delicious bounty God has provided to us on this earth.
While I'm layering, I'm reflecting on my life, and how God has been present in, and worked through, every day of it.
While I'm baking, I spend the hour in the warmth of His love for me, which compels my heart to beat in love for others.
While I'm delivering, I'm praying for the person or family in need. Sometimes I know their struggle, and sometimes I do not. I find it matters not. God knows. My service in love is all that I need be concerned with.
While I'm driving home, I'm usually in tears. Because my small gift, the lasagna love I share, always pales in comparison to the gift God gave to me through Jesus. It is humbling to the greatest degree to acknowledge no gift from my hands will ever compare to the love and the blood of Christ, but it is because of Him that I continue to give. And receive.
